The complete lineup of the forthcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game set has been unveiled, just a week before its official release. “Paradise Dragona” is set to debut in Japan on September 13, and enthusiasts now have the opportunity to preview every card included in this collection.
This upcoming Pokémon TCG set boasts 64 new cards, as identified by PokéBeach. However, fans in the West will need to be patient until November 8 to acquire these cards, which will be part of the “Surging Sparks” set, accompanied by additional cards from October’s “Supercharged Breaker.”
The comprehensive reveal introduces five new secret rare cards to the game: Cetitan, Vibrava, Drayton, Lisia, and Archaludon ex. Notably, Archaludon ex joins a roster of new ex cards, marking the first appearance of Black Kyurem in the TCG in five years.

Drayton and Archaludon Ex Are Predictable Additions
Recent Pokémon card leaks have been gradually building anticipation for the grand unveiling next week. The special rares, Drayton and Archaludon ex, come as no surprise to attentive fans. An illustration on a Pokémon card sleeve prominently featured Drayton with his Haxorus and Archaludon in the background, strongly suggesting that these characters would receive more substantial cards in “Surging Sparks.”

While the full-card artwork of Archaludon is a welcome inclusion, many fans had hoped for a Haxorus ex card. Overall, the TCG community’s reaction to the full set reveal has been somewhat tepid.
Pokémon TCG Enthusiasts Discontented with the Scarcity of Dragons in the Dragon Set
Art and Designs Impress Despite Concerns
Despite the buzz surrounding each new reveal, fans are expressing dissatisfaction with some of the Pokémon selections. While the lineup does include a few Dragon-type creatures, along with the potent new Dragon’s Potion trainer card that heals 60 damage from an active dragon Pokémon, the representation of dragons is lacking.
PokéBeach user Nirvanna21 voiced frustration over the shortage of actual dragons in the set, stating: “A dragon set, ladies and gentlemen. A dragon set where my favorite cards are a bunch of eggs and a weather detector.” With the Pokémon franchise offering a vast array of Dragon-types, the choices for this Year of the Dragon set have left some fans puzzled.
Although this Pokémon Trading Card Game set may not fully satisfy every fan, it distinguishes itself with its stunning artwork. The cards display exquisite designs and vibrant colors, ensuring that even the less favored Pokémon stand out. Fans can enjoy even more of the new artwork through accessories released alongside the cards, such as the Pokémon Fall 2024 Collector Chest and various card sleeves and deck boxes.
