Set Sail for Adventure in “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii”
Get ready to embark on a thrilling maritime journey in the upcoming Yakuza series installment, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.” This new adventure follows the release of “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth,” which launched in January 2024.
A Surprising New Chapter for Yakuza Fans
Sega unveiled the unexpected twist in the series through an exciting trailer. “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” takes a surprising turn by putting the spotlight on Goro Majima. Players will join him on a treasure-seeking mission, all while battling pirates along the way.
The seven-minute trailer offers a glimpse of what lies ahead. Majima finds himself on the sun-kissed shores of Rich Island, near Hawaii, after what appears to be a few turbulent nights. Soon, he’s caught in a fierce firefight with pirates. This new chapter continues the story from “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth,” where Majima ascends to the ranks of a formidable pirate captain.

The Anticipation Builds for the Next Yakuza Installment
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega have a reputation for delivering successive “Like A Dragon” titles. With “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth” just released in January, the announcement of this new adventure aligns perfectly with fan expectations. Although the pirate escapade won’t be available until February 2025 on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the extensive trailer provides a thrilling preview of the combat and treasure-hunting excitement that awaits.
For nearly a year, fans have been speculating about the next entry in the action-adventure series. The anticipation reached a fever pitch when Sega announced the RGG Summit on August 28, which finally took place this morning, revealing the news fans had eagerly awaited.
The announcement came as a surprise, as few expected a pirate-themed addition to the franchise. However, sharp-eyed fans might have guessed it, given Majima’s eyepatch in some promotional art. In “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii,” players can effortlessly switch between two combat styles: the dual-sword “Sea Dog” style and the renowned, speed-focused “Mad Dog” style.
Pre-Order Opportunities and Collector’s Editions
The game is now available for pre-order, with various editions to choose from. Enthusiastic fans willing to invest extra can enjoy exclusive in-game pre-order bonuses. Although “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” is considered a spin-off, a collector’s edition is also available, offering both physical and digital rewards.
