A long-awaited restock of Pokémon merchandise has reintroduced a beloved item that had been unavailable for years. This oversized plush is now open for preorder, offering fans who missed it previously another chance to own it.
The Pokémon Center has officially begun taking preorders for a charming Pokémon from the Galar region of Pokémon Sword and Shield: a jumbo-sized Appletun plush has made its return on the website. Enthusiastic fans have eagerly awaited this restock, as the plush was last available in May 2021. This endearing Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon resembles a cozy apple pie more than a fierce dragon, with its rotund shape and large size making it perfect for cuddling.
Comparing Pokémon’s Appletun with Its Plush Variant
Little Toy, Big Hug
Although Appletun appears as a hefty creature, it is surprisingly small in the Pokémon universe, standing at just one foot, four inches tall, much like Pikachu. In contrast, the jumbo plush version is about one foot, ten inches tall, making it larger than its digital counterpart.
Fortunately, the plush is much lighter than the actual Pokémon. In the game, Appletun weighs 28.7 lbs, whereas the plush toy weighs only 4.3 lbs, ensuring it is an ideal huggable companion.
Pokémon Center's Newest Plush Is Pure Nightmare Fuel
Previous reviews on the plush’s listing on the Pokémon Center website have lauded its size and softness, describing it as “A big squishy apple lad,” “A good chonky girl,” “a cuddly boi,” and most notably, a “Happiness Dispenser.” This comforting apple pie Pokémon evolves from Applin, which can take several evolutionary paths. Applin’s other evolutions are also receiving attention, with Dipplin featuring as a foil card in the Pokémon TCG’s Fall Collector Chest, set for release on November 15.
Pokémon enthusiasts can look forward to more beloved items making a comeback as the Pokémon Center continues to unveil additional merchandise, including a substantial collaboration that has brought all 151 Gen 1 Pokémon to apparel and phone cases. The Appletun plush is priced at $129.99 and is anticipated to ship in late March. Given the rapid sell-out rate of Pokémon merchandise and the long-standing anticipation for restocks, fans of this jumbo pie Pokémon should seize the opportunity to order quickly.
