Stellar Crown: A New Chapter for Pokémon TCG Enthusiasts
With the release of Stellar Crown, Pokémon Trading Card Game players have eagerly taken on the challenge of analyzing the set’s Hit Rate. This involves calculating the likelihood of pulling each type of rare card from a significant number of packs. For accurate statistics, it’s essential to open at least 1,000 packs, ensuring a representative sample of the various rarities. Although larger expansions can skew these numbers, Stellar Crown, being a more compact set, provides clear and promising statistics.
Analyzing Stellar Crown’s Hit Rate
Recently, YouTuber Clovr Cards undertook the task of opening 1,000 packs of Stellar Crown to offer insights into the rarity of specific cards. The results shed light on the distribution of different card types within the set.
Full Art Pokémon and Trainers
Clovr Cards’ experiment revealed that Full Art Pokémon and Full Art Trainers made up 6.6% of the collection, with 66 Ultra Rare cards being pulled. Interestingly, Illustration Rares, generally perceived as more valuable, had a hit rate of 7.6%. This makes them slightly more prevalent than Ultra Rares, though this could be attributed to chance, given the sample size.
What About Stellar Crown’s Hyper Rares?
A Closer Look at Rare Finds
Most Pokémon TCG enthusiasts would be thrilled to acquire Full Art Pokémon or Trainers, but Clovr Cards went further by examining the Hit Rate of even more elusive cards. Special Illustration Rares, which include Alternate Art Pokémon ex and Trainers, were found at a rate of 4.9%, with 49 pulled from the sample. Hyper Rares, also known as Gold Cards, are considered the game’s rarest, appearing at a meager rate of 0.8%. Only eight were discovered among the 1,000 packs.
Stellar Crown’s Unique Features
Building on the Scarlet & Violet series, Stellar Crown has been warmly welcomed by the Pokémon TCG community. The set is particularly notable for debuting Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, which transform well-known pocket monsters by Terrastalizing them, imbuing them with special abilities and moves. These powerful cards can serve as valuable assets in decks but require multiple Energy types, making them both costly and risky to play.

This set, although smaller and themed around Ghost-types, promises to delight fans even without introducing new cards.
